Before Tomorrow Live presents a program that responds both to different artistic positions in the Astrup Fearnley collection and to the thematic and formal threads that bind together the works in the anniversary exhibition. By inviting artists and actors who work with temporary and time-based expressions into the museum, the intention is not only to expand the categories of media that the museum deals with, but also to try out new ways of programming and institutional frameworks.
The program also includes a series of informal conversations inside the halls with artists presented in the exhibition, such as Ann Cahtrin November Høibo and Mikael Lo Presti. The conversations give an insight into the artists’ reflections on their own and other people’s works. Furthermore, researchers, art critics and institutional managers will reflect on developments within the art ecosystem, institutional practice and the works in the Astrup Fearnley collection.
