Founded in 1990, the Henna and Pertti Niemistö Fine Art Foundation – ARS FENNICA sr awards Finland’s most significant fine art prize of 50,000 euros every other year.
The award is given to the artist in recognition of high-level and distinctive artistic work. The award committee appointed by the foundation nominates the candidates and an international art expert, who chooses the awardee from among the candidates. The candidates have been artists from Finland, the Nordic countries and the Baltic countries.
The exhibition of the Ars Fennica candidates has previously been seen at Kiasma five times in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2017.
The award recipient will be announced on 22 November 2023. He is chosen by Anne Barlow , who is a director at Tate St Ives.
The public can also vote for their favorite. You can find the ballots in the exhibition. Public recognition is awarded in January.
