ARABELLA KEVAD is a 9-year-old artist whose work blends childlike imagination with remarkable craftsmanship. Her age may surprise you, but Arabella has been working with ceramics for four years—nearly half her life! In that time, clay has transformed for her from a playful companion into a medium for storytelling, allowing her to share the world as she sees it. Arabella’s creations are heartfelt, vibrant, and full of life, reminding us that even the smallest artist can tell a grand story.
In her exhibition Family on the Beach, Arabella presents ceramic figures of her family and all her cats. Each sculpture is made with loving attention—whether capturing her brother’s sudden bursts of anger or a cat’s curious gaze.
RUUBEN KEVAD is a 13-year-old artist whose works stand out for their sharp observation and strong sense of character. He has been working with ceramics for many years, and in recent times has focused on portraying animals—not only their shape, but their personality. His creations are full of humor, wit, and sensitivity to form.
For “Family on the Beach”, Ruuben has created a lively flock of sculptural seagulls, each with its own face, attitude, and mysterious backstory. Some are cheeky thieves who raid the beach for pies, while others are curious summer visitors with watchful eyes. These seagulls are more than birds—they are vivid characters, a little mischievous and full of life, ready to make viewers smile… or keep a wary hand on their sandwich.
