During the opening, the winner of this year’s Ado Vabbe art award will be announce.
At this year’s annual exhibition of Tartu art, two new prizes will be awarded with the support of art collectors Veljo Ipits, Reigo Kuivjõgi and Margus Punab.
The visitors of the exhibition can vote for the audience award and the jury will select the recipient of the young artist encouragement award. Both awards are 3000 euros.
Additionally, all visitors can select their favourite exhibition from Tartu Art House’s 2023 exhibition programme.
The recipients of the awards will be announced on 28 January, the last day of the exhibition. The young artist encouragement awarded will be given to any of the participating artists who is forty years old or younger (on the day of the exhibition opening). Besides Veljo Ipits, Reigo Kuivjõgi and Margus Punab, the award jury also includes the director of the Tartu Art Museum Joanna Hoffmann and the chairman of the Tartu Artists’ Union Peeter Talvistu.
All who vote for the audience awards enter into a draw of a 500 euro gift voucher of the NOBA.ac art platform which is dedicated to Nordic-Baltic artists.
