Oversized Nix Flores has flourished thanks to the artist’s nomination to the Golden Needle award in 2022 where Tammik received the Best Accessory Manufacturer award. The fact that she was nominated to the award inspired Anneli Tammik to approach her artwork in much larger dimension than usually. Present exhibition introduces the extended, more colourful and more user-friendly version of the jewellery collection. The essence of the jewellery lies in Nordic crispness and the structure of snow.
Circle is one of the main characteristics of symmetry in nature and in the structure of snow. Nature varies its typical patterns and adjusts these to the environmental needs while trying to achieve the maximum effect with a minimum effort. The beauty of nature is functional and relative in its essence yet always decorative. Noticing patterns is a component of human intellect. The collection of Snow Flowers 3D is a continuation of a two-dimensional pattern. While adding the third dimension, the general picture will change entirely whereas snow will retain its structure and brilliance. 3D printing provides opportunities that we have never had before. New technological miracles are being born. A miracle, just like a snow flower. Large-scale photographs give overview of the pieces of jewellery in their organic environment while being exhibited on a model.
