“One bear does not sleep” is a selection of recent paintings and drawings by Anne Mari Roost. Anne Mari has written a poem with the same name as the title of the exhibition. The poem can be read at the exhibition. In one way or another, all of Anne Mari Roost’s work is about curiosity. According to the artist, it is curiosity that makes a bear look at what’s on the other side of the bush, or what drives us out of the warm room. Curiosity leads you to walk unknown paths or notice new things on familiar roads. It takes us to meet incredible creatures and why not, yourself.
Anne Mari Roost is a biologist and teacher. Drawing and painting has been her hobby for some years. She has studied at the Tallinn Art Gymnasium and restoration of furniture at the Tartu Art School for one year.
