Anders Bergman: “Since I visited the artist house for the first time it has had a special place in my heart. I played my first solo gig presenting my songs on the attic festival in 2011. Also it was a place to come by when arriving from or heading back to the Helsinki boat. The space and location of Gallerii Metropol 6m2 are the starting point for this installation work. Collage/relief/painting works and sculptural elements are interwoven with the two gallery spaces Metropol and Cabinet to create a story open for the viewers own interpretation. Warmly welcome!”
Anders Bergman is a Swedish artist who has lived and worked primarily in Helsinki since 2000. Bergman’s art practice is a journey through diverse fields of installation, painting, music, sounds and social environments – in which he investigates energy across a vast array of forms. He conceives of music and other forms of sound as a sort of “floating architecture”, and in turn he often thinks of paintings and installations as “frozen music”.
