Korhonen’s exhibitions tells a story of a person’s inner world from two points of view. Each person attempts to form a comprehensive identity. This process demands peace and alone time. Interaction between two people can either aid and support this process or damage and shatter a person’s identity and peace.
The paintings of “A Room of One’s Own” are demonstrative and still-life-like, reality being a mere suggestion, with a limited color scheme and serene mood. The paintings tell a story of independence, peace and personal space and are inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel “A Room of One’s Own”.
“Together” tells a story of being alone together, it’s ambiances and challenges. These painting are more expressive, with an intense color scheme.
