The exhibition dedicated to the figurative paintings of seven artists is a continuation of the series of exhibitions held at the initiative of the painter Mall Nukke and under the auspices of the Estonian Painters Association. The series started in the spring of 2021 at the Rantakasarmi Gallery of the Helsinki Artists’ Association in Suomenlinna, Finland.
The seven artists participating in the exhibition are independent creators and have different personalities. These painters, who mostly started in the nineties and the early 2000s, are authors with extensive exhibition experience who have exhibited both in Estonia and abroad. They are also connected by the common background of the Estonian Academy of Arts and membership in the Estonian Painters Association.
“This group of artists, with their simultaneously playful and serious author positions, illuminates many different ‘blind corners’ of painting, achieving a diverse and inspiring result,” the curators confirm.
Participants in the exhibition: Mauri Gross, August Künnapu, Laurentsius, Maarit Murka, Karl-Kristjan Nagel, Mall Nukke and Tiiu Rebane.
The curators of the exhibition are Mall Nukke and Tiiu Rebane.
