The exhibition of architectural comics “Urbatekt in the Hidden World” is open in the walking hall of Sakala Center in Viljandi, where comic art and architectural graphics will meet.

The guide tour is curated by Sandra Mälk from the Museum of Architecture. The book “Confusion in Urbicande” (La Fièvre d’Urbicande), translated into Estonian, can also be purchased on site.

Based on the graphic novel “Confusion in Urbicande” by French artist François Schuiten and writer Benoît Peeters, the exhibition takes the viewer to a mystical planet whose inhabitants face problems familiar to us, such as the reorganization of urban space or heritage versus new lust. As heroes and anti-heroes, they are often crosswinds of architectural ideas and rigid systems.

Supporters are the Ministry of Culture, Estonian Cultural Endowment, French Embassy in Estonia, French Institute in Estonia.
