NOBA Nordic Baltic contemporary art platform

A series of expressive, figurative, emotional landscape works by British/ Australian artist Richard Denny. Influenced heavily by five years of residency in Estonia.

A large scale collaboration installation dominates one wall, within the exhibition space. Created with Estonian blacksmith Tõnis Luik the work extends both artists previous practices.

Inviting us to look below the surface and question our place in society and the broader world, the responsibilities, morals and empathy of the artist and the audience alike.

Using combinations of acrylics, oil and pencil, regular and irregularly shaped pieces of painted canvas, wood, text, paper and detailed regional maps (that reference Alfred Korzybski “the map and territory”) and applied onto paper and wood.
