The exhibition introduces the heritage of talented and versatile creative personality in painting. Peeter Sink’s work bears the marks of the spiritual environment of the 1920s and 1930s. He has painted mainly landscapes: heather meadows, quiet sunset moments on the beaches, complex cloudy landscapes, Estonian village motifs, as well as the Caucasus mountains, preferring symbolic motifs that have also inspired many of his poems. You can see the influences on Nikolai Roerich’s spirituality, but also on the pantheistic approach to nature by Nordic national romantic painters, which is not surprising when you think about the author’s studies and later contacts in Finland. Traces of M.K. From the mysticism of Ciurlionis and Kristjan Raud and from Konrad Mägi’s color preferences, yet Peeter Sink’s paintings are unique and very recognizable.
