The group exhibition “Out of Oneself” gives nine artists the opportunity to explore emotional borderline states. In those situations, changes can take place in both, the psychological and the physical body. The audience will encounter these shifts out of oneself in different mediums – from colourful paintings to slightly self-ironic videos. The works view the potential for self-development and the feeling of lightness, which those threshold experiences can bring.

The exhibition asks: What does it mean to be upset and outside of oneself? What leads to that? Or what holds us back from expressing the dreadfulness of it? How can difficult emotions intensify during quarantine and isolation? Does technology enhance the feeling of separation? What awaits you when you get back to yourself – relaxation, emptiness or the opportunity for self-reflection?
