Ion Grigorescu: The Open Artist

Ion Grigorescu (born in 1945, lives in Bucharest) is one of the crucial artists of the postwar European scene. His oeuvre, spanning from the mid-1960s until today, is both wide-ranging and concentrated, both many-faceted and singularly personal. Grigorescu has twice represented Romania at the Venice Biennale, in 1997 and in 2011, and he participated in documenta XII in Kassel in 2007.
