The international contemporary printmaking exhibition in Format Artspace Copenhagen presents the works of 11 visual artists experimenting with the classic craft of printmaking.

Visually and conceptually, the works reflect the artists’ skillful competencies and provide interesting perspectives on working with printmaking today. In doing so, the works demonstrate a wide range of qualities and diversity in printmaking. The exhibition shows a mix of traditional techniques such as lithography, woodcut, and linocut as well as contemporary forms of digital prints, collography and sculptural matters, created and printed by the artists themselves.

The participating artists have over the past three years formed a tribal printmaking network through their participation in the “Printmaking In” festival in Pärnu (EST) and Riga (LV).

Participating Artists:
– Anonymous Boh (EST) – – Taje Tross (EST) – Toomas Kuusing (EST) – Hansina Iversen (FO) – Paulis Liepa (LV) – Michel Ruths (FI) – Ieva Naglina (LV) – Rasmus Danø (DK) – Mia Lindqvist (SE) –
– Jenny Berg & Morgan Schagerberg (SE)

Curator and initiator of DAWN DIRECTIONS visual artist Rasmus Danø (DK) has managed several printmaking exhibitions over the years. Printmaking is a central part of his artistic practice and some of his works will feature in the exhibition as well.

Format Artspace has since the opening in 2013 focused on promoting the great and diverse qualities of graphic printmaking. Particularly oriented towards young art enthusiasts Format Artspace has succeeded in creating a space that makes the art world accessible to a greater audience.
