Berit-Bärbel Rebane “Art of Absence”

The core of the exhibition is the altars and statues dedicated to emptiness and vanity in Tallinn, Tartu and Vienna. In the course of her urban wanderings, the artist has caught moments between the past and the future, in which there is sadness and mystery. It's like a phantom pain left by a lost limb, the hollow coldness of emptiness. Wear and loss, violent removal and manual labor. An assortment of Wabi-sabi aesthetic shifts that combine temporality, suffering and emptiness. Sometimes there is less more. Sometimes there is less more than we can tolerate.
