"Autuala (Blessed Land)" is a word by which the Finnish painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela described esoteric studies in her letters. It is a symbolic ideal world and a paradise that opens its gates to those who persevere enough in their hidden wisdom.

“My works can be considered the keys of this kingdom. First of all, there were poems – in fact, they were the lyrics to my black metal band Circle Of Ouroborus’ full-length album with the same name “Autuala”. I see Autuala as a place of opposites: how the growth of understanding causes us both excitement and fear, and how the awareness of impending death makes us appreciate life even more, and so on. However, this does not mean polarization – everyone in this vortex is still spinning together, the boundaries of being are being broken, and so we can find landscapes on the surface of a seashell or a grainy existence in the night sky above us. Big in small, small in big. Everything is intertwined. ”
