White Darkness, 2018

292 x 157.4 cm

NB! The measurements show the size of the room (paintings are all 28,6 x 18 cm)

“White Darkness” draws attention to the overwhelming visual material in information society and its consequences and turns the room into a computer folder allowing the viewer to enter it. In the course of writing her thesis the artist was searching different visuals to convey interesting aspects of darkness. During the process she collected around 3000 images. The image collecting methodology became a decisive factor in her master’s project and took over the original idea. Painted pictures are taken from one of the image folders that were created during the project. Images show different research directions and topics and the volume of the collected material. The artist used Google search engine to find material for this folder.
