This painting series explores the childhood home as a carrier of memory, identity, and familial heritage. The starting point of the works is my rural home – a place where I grew up and whose transformation and renovation I experienced in parallel with my own coming of age. Through personal memories and family stories, this place has become a kind of mirror of our family’s soul. The windows reflect the past, telling stories of one’s origins, memories, and inner world. Although the house has since been renovated and given a new appearance, it still carries a sense of childhood nostalgia and a connection to the past. The paintings are framed within window frames originating from the former veranda, which preserve traces of the house’s earlier character. Over time, this space has served different functions – once an entrance room for receiving guests, today a part of the house that has receded into the backyard. Nevertheless, it continues to hold significant emotional and visual value. The work explores the meaning of home as an emotional space and the ways in which places shape human memory and identity.
