The Geoceramic Turn. The Postament (Supervisor Assoc. Prof. Remigijus Sederevičius), 2025
Unfired raw clay, raw soil, sand, stones, pieces of sandstone, fossils, geoceramic shards.
A postament for the geoceramics? For a subject that exists all over the world but whose concept is still not (widely) talked about? Luxembourg’s sandstone, my inspirator and witness of the geoceramic turn, dictated this creative work with Earth-oriented content. It is filled with experiences and worries, discoveries and losses, hopes and despairs, inhales and exhales throughout two study years, intertwined with emotional layers. All is compressed from the Lithuanian clay, Luxembourg’s sandstone soil and frequently on its surface found fossils, weathered sandstone sand and stones, geoceramic shards (of experiments). These geoceramic materials, with their entire being, merged into the creative process and determined the final result with outcrops.
