Sculpture made out of steel, car, moss, glass, window frames, bitum and audio poetry
The sculpture is a conversation opener on urban city planning, ecology, architecture and social structures. It can also be interpreted as a broader conceptual work, in which for example I explore the relationships and proportionality of soft and hard, fragile and strong, through materials. The car depicts urban planning centered on cars and consumption. The child’s foot crushing under the car symbolizes a new generation and a change to a different future. The tree growing from the foot depicts the city’s increased biodiversity, community, the opposite of a consumer and production-centric approach. My work aims to spark interest in local history and future, as well as to offer people a visual meeting place, drive to discussion and act as an interesting art piece. The sculpture is meant to visit different cities as an exhibit.
