Archival pigment print, museum glass, aluminum frame

Screen is part of the larger body of work, Sacer. Sacer is a multidisciplinary body of work comprising four archival pigment prints, three types bronze cast sculptures, a multichannel sound work by artist Mimi Veter (Mirya Nezvitskaya), and a light installation. This photographic study that explores a range of questions related to photography. The work examines the various screens through which we view the world and through which we ourselves are viewed, photographic and psychic fragmentation, the temporality of the photographic medium, and the madness that inhabits the world, artistic practice, the psyche, and the photographic image. Photography is magic. Like a twisted vampire feeding on rays of light, capable of immortalising the fleeting and revealing what remains invisible to the human eye, the photograph is always bound to its referent and yet deceptively autonomous. What exactly is it that we look at when we look at a photograph?
