PAL-CODE (QR), 2025
Low stitch (acrylic yarn on jute), stretched on frame.
The work continues the artist’s playful series where technological symbols intertwine with traditional textile art. The artist suggests that even a functional QR code possesses hidden aesthetic potential when liberated from its usual black-and-white rigidity and infused with color.
Unlike its digital predecessor, this code is deliberately “broken” – it is not meant to be scanned by machines, but experienced by people. By intentionally disrupting the data pattern, the artist creates a textured, vibrant “fuzz-code” that leads nowhere but back to itself. Instead of redirecting the viewer to a screen, the piece invites an appreciation of material and color, transforming a technical sign into a warm, tactile element of interior design.
