The artist´s comment on the artwork:
“This is a personal, sentimental painting work. Two artworks motifs emerge in this work – Édouard Manet “The Luncheon on the Grass” (French: Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe) and landscape from my native “Paliuliskes village”. When I am painting I ask myself – is it real, is it true, what I’m thinking and trying to convey in the canvas. Or maybe during painting these events are survived as a new reality.”
