“Grillz” is a three-object sculptural installation completed in 2020. The sculpture that represents dental grills is accompanied by two objects of a more abstract form. All these forms carry in themself evolving stages or levels of Männa’s sculpture. “Grillz” refer back to the dental ornaments of ancient civilizations, they were a symbol of elitist status and that trend was revived by hip-hop artists during the millennium. The work can be seen as homage or satire to contemporary lifestyles.
