Greenhouse Carnival II is the latest chapter in the Greenhouse series of paintings. A vibrant visual journey divided between a greenhouse and the depths of the ocean – one highly curated environment and the other still untouched by human hands. Around every corner of the canvas lies a new surprise – a stylish photographer, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, a woman from van Eyck’s Andorlfin couple and Snoop Dogg at the iconic 1994 MTV music video awards (“Murder Was the Case”), Akira Kurosawa’s warlord (Ran 1985), Trump/VanGogh, characters from Miyazaky’s animated film (Princess Mononoke) and exotic animals, surreal objects and unexpected encounters woven together into a dreamlike ecosystem. Painted in a bold contemporary style, the work invites viewers to stop and explore. Each viewing reveals new details, hidden symbolism and playful connections that make the artwork endlessly engaging.
