Four Walls, 2025

70 x 70 cm
€1230

Oil on canvas

Looking through the eyes of an internal system player, I decided to create multi-layered paintings, one of them being “Four Walls”. This artwork repeats the motif of institutional isolation and the depersonalization of the individual, deconstructing the civil servant’s daily routine into minimalist, emotionally impactful color symbols. In the painting “Four Walls”, the contour of the monitor is identified not as a window to the world, but as a closed blue space framing the existence of the function’s executor. This artwork was painted by layering impasto-applied paint thinned with varnish. First, a detailed depiction of the working environment was painted, then covered over—abandoning unnecessary details and transitioning into a minimalist relationship between colors (spots) and lines.
