The series “Finis terrae” brings together themes of historical memory, imagination, and ecological catastrophe within a Nordic aesthetic framework. Objects that were once part of everyday life but are now disappearing from use are sacralised through copper and engraved patterns.
The work “Ad astra” stands as a monument to the longing for distance in the context of melting ice and snow, questioning the once-existing relationship between humans and nature.
“Carta marina” is based on the mythical map of the Nordic lands created in 1539 by the Swedish cleric Olaus Magnus, whose imagery has been transferred onto copper-covered skis.
