The dimensions refer to the paper size; the framed artwork measures 35 × 64 cm.
The piece is framed with a classic black wooden strip frame and gallery glass. A black passe-partout visually enhances the artwork and brings it into focus.
This is a screen print belonging to a limited edition of 20, originally created as an illustration for the cover of Jaan Oks’s book “Emased” (“The Females”). Alongside the book cover, a same-titled series of screen prints was produced, to which this work belongs.
In 2021, Raul Meel produced a new version of the piece, larger in format and visually rendered as a “positive”, in contrast to the original’s darker-toned “negative”. The reprint is considered a standalone, reworked graphic artwork(also available on NOBA: Emased IV).
Both versions have appeared at multiple auctions and have been sold at significantly higher prices.
