Sand, kaolin, pigment, styrofoam, glue, burlap, plaster.

The pile is a place where the unwanted gathers. A storage space and an extended brain. A mysterious place where you hope to find everything you seek, everything you have lost, if you only had the time to make your way through the enormous mountain that makes up the pile. Everything is an accumulation of something. Of memories, of things left unspoken, of those who came before us, those who created the foundation we stand on today. If I were to draw our lineage, it would not take the shape of a tree. It would look more like a tower. A stacked pyramid, tightly packed. An accumulation of heads.
