Vano Allsalu

Vano Allsalu

Artist is based in: Estonia

Vano Allsalu (1967) creates works characterised by a powerfully expressive style and a distinctive colour palette. His thematic range extends from the forces of nature to states of mind and mythological construc- tions. While often engaging the intimately personal, his art also offers interpretations of broader cultural and social dynamics. Allsalu graduated in painting from the Estonian Academy of Arts (1991) and has taught at the University of Tartu, the Estonian Academy of Arts, and Sally Studio. From 2013 to 2025, he served as President and Vice President of the Estonian Artists’ Association. He has been actively involved in exhibition practice, received numerous awards, and his works are included in many museum and private collections. Allsalu is a member of the Estonian Painters’ Association and the Tartu Artists’ Union, as well as an honorary member of the Estonian Artists’ Association.
