Sofia Vuorenmaa ^{Emerging artist}

Sofia Vuorenmaa (b. 2001) lives and works in Helsinki, Finland. She works mainly with techniques of printmaking, drawing and analogue photography. The starting points for her working usually come from observations about the sea and natural phenomena. Immediate sensory experiences or chance combined with created systems is recurring theme in her artworks.

Vuorenmaa will complete the BFA degree in 2024 and start MFA studies in January 2025 at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts in Helsinki. Her works have been on display in exhibition spaces around Helsinki: Kuva/Tila (2024, 2023), Vapaan taiteen tila (2024, 2023), Yö gallery (2023) and Hippolyte Korjaamo (2021) among others. She is a member of Artists' Association Yö.
