Romanas Naryškin is a Lithuanian multimedia artist whose practice explores the interconnectedness of life, consciousness, and the complexity of human experience. After several years working outside the arts, he returned to artistic practice by enrolling in the MA programme in Multimedia Arts at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where his research focused on the concept of holistic complexity.

Combining artistic inquiry with perspectives drawn from philosophy and the natural sciences, Naryškin investigates the limits of knowledge and the relationships between living systems, perception, and embodied experience. His master’s research approached complexity through multiple forms of expression, ranging from theoretical writing to photography and artistic experimentation, ultimately questioning whether interconnected existence can ever be fully explained through intellectual frameworks alone.

Alongside his academic research, Naryškin’s practice has marked a personal rediscovery of artistic curiosity and identity. He is currently developing three photographic series centred on the themes of home, water, and death, while preparing to continue his research at doctoral level.
