Riin Maide

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Riin Maide (b. 1997) is an artist and scenographer based in Tallinn, Estonia. Through playful installations and staged environments Maide studies the themes of memory and presence. In Maide’s artwork, the emphasis often lies on site-specific art, ephemerality and graphic image. She has obtained a BA degree in the department of graphic art at the Estonian Academy of Arts and is currently acquiring an MA in scenography. In addition, she has studied at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater at DAMU in Prague and in the Performative Arts class of Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She has received several scholarships and awards, most recently the Wiiralt scholarship in 2023.
