Paco Ulman

Artist's country of origin: Estonia

Paco Ulman (born 1980) is an architect and photographic artist from Tallinn who above all has become well-known for his metaphysical still-life works in the contemporary urban space. In 2008, he received a master’s degree in architecture at the Estonian Academy of Arts. As a photo artist, Ulman deals mainly with the issues of urban space he encounters in his daily practice as an architect, shifting the ideas of time and space, and categories of space and representations of space. His most important solo exhibitions to date have been “In Tallinn” at the Hobusepea Gallery in 2009, “Tallinn-Helsinki-Stockholm” at the Tallinn City Gallery in 2011 and “mememe” at the Hobusepea Gallery in 2014. In 2012, Ulman won the Sadolin Prize for contemporary art.
