Ove Maidla (1959) is an Estonian photographer from Tartu who likes to work on the border of photography and printmaking. He is especially interested in archaic techniques which result in painterly images. Maidla has worked in bromine oil printing and photogravure, but his current passion is linocut. He was awarded the Printmaker of the Year at the 2020 Annual Exhibition of Tartu Artists for his work Being the Silence, and his latest solo exhibition, During the Last Push of the Spring of Thoughts took place at Tartu Art House in 2020.
