Orest Kormašov

Orest Kormašov (1964) is a painter, iconologist, and conservator. His paintings draw inspiration from nature, people, and moments of everyday life, while reflecting deeper layers of existence and inviting contemplation. Kormašov graduated in painting from the Estonian State Art Institute in 1990 and obtained a master’s degree in art history from Tallinn University in 2001. For many years, he worked at the Institute of Fine Arts of Tallinn University. He has participated in and organised exhibitions, published scholarly articles, and worked in the conservation of Old Russian icon painting. Since 2014, he has also led a number of thematic tours at the Icon Museum. Kormašov is a member of the Estonian Painters’ Association and the Estonian Artists’ Association.
