Olivia Verev

Olivia Verev (born 1986 in Kohila ) is mainly working in video, installation and printmaking. Verev graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a BA in Fine Arts (printmaking; 2008) and later with a MA in Interdisciplinary Arts (2011). She has also studied sound art and spatial concepts in Braunschweig University of Art. In 2008, Verev was awarded the Eduard Wiiralt young artist art award. According to Verev, her works often deal with the question of when is it when a play becomes reality? When will an imaginary explosion turn into a bomb built using instructions from the internet, when will a wooden gun be replaced with a real one, etc.
