Mari Haavel (born 1970) is a textile designer and artist who lives and works in Tallinn. She graduated Tallinn Art College, BA in Textiles (1996). Mari Haavel has worked as a gallerist and in various textile companies as a designer of home textiles, she is currently active in this field. Alongside with this, Mari has been continuously involved in her own path in artistic field – she has participated in various textile exhibitions, including international and personal exhibitions. Her favorite techniques are silk screen printing and gobelin. She has also been involved in designing and manufacturing various textile products, which today has taken a name of Semimari Textiles – a small studio, which produces interior textiles and accessories, which are mostly hand-made, silk-screen printing techniques, and to a large extent materials are the remnants of Estonian producers.
