Manfred Dubov
Artist is based in: Estonia
Manfred Dubov (1986) depicts states of people and places in his oil paintings, exploring the relationships between the personal and the collective, the physical and the metaphysical. Many of his motifs originate in personal life; they pass through a kind of “soul canvas,” generating notes and sketches that later find their way onto the painting surface in various forms. Dubov grad- uated in painting from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2010 and has actively participated in exhibitions. He has published two poetry collections, and his debut collection Täna leitakse kõik üles (Today Everything Will Be Found, 2016) was nominated for the Betti Alver Prize. Dubov has worked as a lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts and as a nurse in the field of emergency medicine and training. He is a member of the Estonian Painters’ Association and the Estonian Artists’ Association.
