Malcolm af Donner

Malcolm af Donner received an M.A. in Classical Studies and Archaeology from Stockholm University in 2021. His master’s thesis was a close study of the Corinthian helmet, focusing on its form and its cultural and societal implications. It also examined how and why the helmet gained such prominence and recognition within ancient Greek culture and society.


In 2020, af Donner participated in Den stora arkeologiska kursen at the Swedish Institute at Athens, a two-month course involving excursions and visits to numerous ancient Greek archaeological sites and ongoing excavations. In 2017, he received a B.A. in Classical Studies and Archaeology from Stockholm University, where he also studied art history, international relations, and law. His bachelor’s thesis analysed selected parts of the Pergamon Altar from a philosophical perspective. From 2016 to 2018, he attended the preparatory art school Gerlesborgsskolan.


In 2026, af Donner participated in the BFA Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and a group exhibition at Labra Kollektiivi in Tampere. In 2025, he participated in Habitats, a student exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki. His work was exhibited at Liljevalchs Spring Salon in Stockholm in 2023 and 2019, and at Valsta Konsthall in Sweden in 2020.


In 2024, af Donner participated in Soyoung Christina Chung’s performance Weight together with Soyoung Christina Chung and David Lundberg. The performance was presented as part of the Traumadisco event at Taiteilijatalo Ars Longa.
