Liis Karu (1983) is a photographic artist and book designer who describes her

work with the term “photo poetry” – yet instead of words and images, certain

feelings are articulated through light and composition. Through nature and

self-portraiture, she explores and reflects on both the inner and the surrounding

world. Karu graduated from the photography department of the Pallas University

of Applied Sciences in 2006 and has actively participated in exhibitions. She is

a member of the Estonian Artists’ Association.
