Ligita Grigorjeva is a Latvian visual artist whose painting practice explores the human figure as a means of investigating power, vulnerability, identity, and psychological tension. Through figurative imagery, fragmented compositions, and subdued colour palettes, her work examines the effects of political systems, propaganda, social control, and contemporary information environments on human perception and behaviour. In 2026, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from the Art Academy of Latvia. Grigorjeva has exhibited her work in Latvia, Italy, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia, and the United States in both solo and group exhibitions. Recent exhibitions include the solo exhibitions Foreign Homes (2025) and Pause (2026), the Young Painter Prize 16th Finalist Art Show (Vilnius, Lithuania), Caleidoscopio (Legnano, Italy), the Baltic New Painting Exhibition SMS.WIFI.OK (Hiiumaa, Estonia), and The Burden of Eternity (MASA Gallery, Riga, Latvia). In 2025, she was selected as a finalist for the Young Painter Prize, one of the leading contemporary painting competitions in the Baltic region. Earlier, in 2020, she won the international comic competition The End of the World, resulting in the publication of her comic by Royal Dirties (Bratislava, Slovakia).
