Laima Andrejeva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Painting and is pursuing a Master’s degree at the Art Academy of Latvia. She has participated in several exhibitions, including The Phenomenon of the Open Gaze at MASA Gallery in Riga, ToGetHer at MASA Gallery, and THE SECOND LIFE at the Leonpolio Manor International Painting Plein Air in Ukmergė, Lithuania. In 2024, Andrejeva participated in the Young Painter Prize group exhibition at the Vilnius Picture Gallery of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and received the Young Painter Prize 2024 People’s Choice Award.
Andrejeva’s painting practice explores how the presence of the figure, body language, light, colour, and spatial composition can create a particular atmosphere and reveal an individual’s inner state. The spaces she depicts are not merely backgrounds for the figures but become emotional environments in which the viewer can sense presence, silence, tension, or calmness.
