Kati Kerstna

Artist is based in: Estonia

Kati Kerstna (1970) works with glass as her material and sculpture as her primary form of expression. In her practice, she often addresses the present era – the Anthropocene – marked by the unpredictable conse- quences of humanity’s extremely rapid development for the living environment. In exploring these themes, she also draws on the contradictory nature of glass itself, balancing its fragility and strength. Kerstna received her Master’s degree in glass art from the Estonian Academy of Arts (2001) and has participated in numerous exhi- bitions in Estonia and abroad. She is also active as a curator and currently works within the organising group for Baltic glass art exhibitions. In 2023 she received the Audience Award at the Spring Exhibition. Kerstna is a member of the Estonian Glass Artists’ Association, the Estonian Sculptors’ Association, and the Estonian Artists’ Association.
