Ieva Marija Andrulytė Emerging artist
Artist's country of origin: Lithuania
I see my creative process as an intimate dance with materials, reflecting both inner emotions and external structures. I explore traditional materials like metal, clay, and epoxy, as well as non-traditional ones such as candies, ribbons, and crystals, transforming them into unique contemporary sculptures and installations. My work examines the relationship between neuroplasticity, burnout, neo-spirituality, and the need for faith, exploring how contemporary humans can evolve, exist, and find hope amidst chaos. I am currently completing a BA in the Sculpture Department at Vilnius Art Academy. During my studies, I have been actively participating in the contemporary art field and have exhibited in several exhibitions, including: – “Lycra’23,” sculptural object, SAKME fashion studio, Vilnius, 2023 – “Conversations,” group exhibition, Camberwell Space Gallery, UAL Camberwell College of Arts, London, England, 2023 – “Mimesis,” curated by Eglė Ambrasaitė, Aikas Žado Laboratorija, Žeimių Dvaras, Lithuania, 2022 – Group exhibition, Gallery “8 Eyes and Ears,” Vilnius, Lithuania, 2022 – “Art Vilnius,” Vilnius, Lithuania, 2021 Ongoing and upcoming exhibitions include: – “Pale Air,” installation at Radvila Palace Museum of Art, part of VAA graduation show, Vilnius, Lithuania (June 3 – June 30, 2024) – “Miela Gražu Žavu/Cuuuuute!,” group exhibition curated by Ona Barbora Šlapinskaitė and Julija Šilytė, Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania, Vilnius, Lithuania (2025)
