Eva Volmerson Emerging artist

Artist is based in: Finland

Eva Volmerson (b. 1994) is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Helsinki, Finland. Her practice spans site-specific installations, moving image art, and analog photography, often delving into the intersections of space, memory, and materiality.

Eva is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki, where she continues to explore immersive environments and time-based media. Prior to this, she earned a degree in ceramics from the Estonian Academy of Arts, a background that significantly influences her approach to material and form in her installations. In addition, she has spent several years studying animation, which has shaped her artistic relationship with movement and transformation.

Her work has been exhibited in group shows across Finland and Estonia.

Eva’s art frequently addresses themes of shared and personal memories, the nomadic nature of homes and studios, and the concepts of place and belonging. She explores the relationship between the body, sound, and visual stimuli, using tactile and fragile materials as a bridge to connect with the viewer, allowing them to interpret the work through their own lens.
