Elina Sanda Zake-Skrodere is a Latvian visual artist whose practice centres on painting, symbolism and emotionally charged visual narratives. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia and has applied to continue her studies at master’s level.
Her professional path into art began in 2018, when she left full-time employment to pursue an artistic career. Since then, her works have entered private collections in 16 countries, and she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Latvia and internationally.
An important early milestone came in 2017, when Zake-Skrodere won the Latvian selection of the Red Bull Art competition and represented Latvia at its international final, where her work received a special recognition award.
Zake-Skrodere creates works that remain open to individual interpretation, giving precedence to symbolism, emotion and visual language over direct explanation. Her evolving practice is shaped by painting, exhibitions and international collaborations, as well as a sustained commitment to learning and artistic development.
