Elena Laurinaviciute Emerging artist
Artist's country of origin: Lithuania
Elena is a contemporary artist based in Vilnius, Lithuania. She is captivated by the interplay between the physicality of clay and the intangibility of sound. Her work focuses on creating experimental aerophonic sound objects from ceramics, producing buzzing and whistling sounds that shape the landscape of spatial air vibrations. Both the visual and auditory aspects of her creations hold significant meaning. During her studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Elena participated in several ceramic symposiums and residencies. She took part in the international ceramic symposium “Metamorphosis” in Ikškil?, Latvia, was a resident at “Kintai Art” with the project “Culture Skune,” and participated in the “Ceramic Overglaze Workshop” during her residency at “Nida Art Colony.” In 2023, Elena received a Lithuanian Artists’ Union Award for her creative works. That same year, she opened her first solo exhibition, “Air Scalpels,” at the independent gallery “Studium P” in Vilnius, Lithuania.
