Marija Gabrielė Karputė is a Lithuanian visual artist with a focus on graphic arts and themes of memory, material traces, and ties between personal and universal narratives. She studied Graphic Arts at Vilnius Academy of Arts and at the Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki. She holds an MA (2025) and BA (2023) in Graphic Arts from Vilnius Academy of Arts. Her work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Lithuania and internationally. Recent exhibitions include the Vilnius Academy of Arts Graduation Show (Vilnius, 2025), Book Vision (Ostrava, 2025), (per)skaitymai (Vilnius, 2024), Origins (Vilnius, 2024), DIG IT OUT (Helsinki, 2024), KUNO Biennial: Shared Imaginations (Vilnius, 2023), and (hi)stories. Young / New Graphic Art (Vilnius, 2023). She has also participated in international projects such as Slow Selfie (Granada–Poznań–Vilnius, 2023) and Intertwinings and Interactions (Gdańsk–Wrocław–Belgrade–Vilnius, 2021–2022). Earlier exhibitions include the J. Vienožinskis Art School Graduate Exhibition (Vilnius, 2020), Wrong Kolior Klub (Vilnius, 2019), and Eksperimenta! (Tallinn, 2017). In 2023, she was awarded the Vytautas Jurkūnas Graphic Arts Prize.
